Do you know your Snowmobile
Rules and Regulations?
In NY State anyone at least eighteen years of age can operate a snowmobile without any other qualification. Youths ages 10-17 may operate a snowmobile without adult supervision who receive a certificate for completing a state-recognized snowmobile safety course. Anyone in this age group must adhere to the same restrictions as children under 10. These children may only operate a snowmobile on lands owned or leased by a parent or guardian unless accompanied by a person 18 or older, or by someone 14 or older who holds a snowmobile safety certificate. Children under 10 or youths not holding a certificate may not operate a snowmobile across a road at any time.

Theft is a growing problem for snowmobile owners too. Most stolen sleds are never recovered. Having physical damage on the snowmobile protects against this and other types of loss.
